More than 8,600 designs from 38 countries had entered the contest for this year’s “Red Dot Award”, which is granted to outstanding brand and communication design. In 2019, the Menden-based company Kludi GmbH & Co. KG is also among the winners of this coveted prize, which was awarded in an official ceremony held at the concert hall on Gendarmenmarkt in Berlin on 1 November. (www.kludi.com) The 24-person international expert jury granted the award to the new brand presentation of the Sauerland-based fittings specialist, created by the agency ‘The Studios’ in Hamburg around Peter Schmidt, one of the outstanding creative designers in Germany. The jury was persuaded by the high-quality design and its underlying special creative ingenuity. The jurors judged the originality of the idea for the design, its degree of innovation, the quality of its implementation, as well as its comprehensibility and emotional impact.

The brand promise “Water in Perfection”
For the family-owned company from the Sauerland region, the brand designers from The Studios developed a corporate design that is consistent in itself and visually expresses what the Kludi brand stands for: tradition of craftsmanship, distinctive specialisation as a maker of high-quality kitchen and bathroom fittings, as well as reliable workmanship, as is generally expected both nationally and internationally from high-quality products “Made in Germany”. Here, the main emphasis is on Kludi’s special relationship with the element water, which is quite purposefully highlighted in the new word and design mark relating to the claim “Water in Perfection”. “After all, the claim of our brand is to provide the best functional, aesthetic and emotional shower experience,” explains Julian Henco, CEO at Kludi. “Winning the Red Dot Award 2019 also confirms that our new visual presentation makes this apparent. So naturally, we are absolutely delighted about this special honour.”
