Digital lifestyle for the modern bathroom
Kludi PushTronic and Kludi TouchTronic are making showers smart
• Kludi PushTronic and Kludi TouchTronic enable two or three elements in the shower to be controlled digitally – more intuitively and conveniently than ever before.
• Both of these ultra-flat fittings and their minimalistic design language are a discreet yet also elegant addition to bathroom interiors.
• Integrating the system into the home wireless network also allows it to be controlled using the app, which offers other useful functions such as pre-heating, cleaning rinses and consumption statistics.
• Both shower control systems come with their own installation set, which includes a special concealed in-wall installation box with an electronic thermostat unit, WiFi module and connecting cables.
• Available from July 2023 (TouchTronic) and October 2023 (PushTronic).
The fact that many everyday devices and systems are controlled digitally has long become the convenient norm for most people. Digital controls and connected devices are also becoming increasingly commonplace in our own four walls. Around 28 million households in Germany are expected to be equipped with smart solutions by 2026, according to a forecast from last year by Statista. ‘For many people, especially the generation that has grown up with digitalisation, Smart living is the epitome of a contemporary home and lifestyle – and the bathroom is no exception. KLUDI is now making showers smart for these people,’ explains Alexandra Walter, Category Manager at the fittings specialist Kludi (www.kludi.com). The Sauerland-based premium brand has developed two digital high-end shower controls for this growing market segment – Kludi PushTronic and Kludi TouchTronic – both of which ensure an outstanding, smart shower experience.
Push and turn – Kludi PushTronic
From the outside, there’s no sign of the digital workings inside the ultra-flat PushTronic. This model is operated by pushing and turning the ergonomically designed knob, which can be fully retracted inside the premium-quality metal plate. The water – which can be controlled separately for two elements, such as hand shower and overhead shower – is turned on and off by simply pressing on the corresponding knob. When it’s sticking out, the water is on. The volume of water is regulated by turning the knob to the left or right. A third element controls the temperature. The shower is configured to start at an economic flow volume and temperature of eight litres per minute and 35 °C respectively. An integrated temperature lock prevents the wa-ter in the shower going above 44 °C. On top of the simple and intui-tive operation of Kludi PushTronic, the system also boasts a minimal-istic design and precise straight lines. The shower control is available in chrome, matt black and matt white, as well as in gold (PVD coat-ing).
Kludi TouchTronic – one touch is all it takes
The design of the high-end TouchTronic model is as elegant as it is minimalistic. The frame surrounding the elegant, black-tinted poly-carbonate user interface is no more than 6.5 millimetres high. Operation is extremely simple, thanks to the easily understandable and clearly organised symbols. Once the display has been switched on, up to three different elements can be controlled individually, simply by pressing on the corresponding icons. This enables two shower heads to work simultaneously – e.g. a hand shower and overhead shower, or the dousing and rainshower jets of an overhead shower. Separate control panels set the temperature and flow volume at the desired level. A special lock also ensures that the temperature never exceeds 44 °C.
A more personalised shower experience can be achieved by pre-setting up to three different showering programmes, which can be activated with a simple touch of the screen. The system also features a smart pre-heat function, warming the water for all elements of the shower to the desired temperature.
Always ‘app to date’: consumption statistics and more
Integrated in the home WiFi system, both shower control systems can also be operated by smartphone or tablet via the free S-FLOW app (available for Android and iOS). The app interface is particularly well-designed and user-friendly to ensure simple and intuitive configuration and operation. However, the app is much more than a remote-control gadget. It enables Kludi TouchTronic users to preset their desired shower parameters and activate the warm-up function. Maintenance functions such as high-temperature anti-legionella rinses and cleaning programmes can also be activated for both shower systems using the app. The app also enables the settings for the children’s safety lock on the PushTronic and TouchTronic to be configured. ‘Given the current context, it is particularly important for users to be able to view the different consumption statistics, whether for the PushTronic or the TouchTronic system,’ explains Walter. To this end, the app provides data on water and energy consumption – a key factor for those who want to optimise their ecological footprint.
Pre-assembled concealed in-wall installation box
Both shower control systems come with their own installation set, which includes a special concealed installation box with an electronic thermostat unit, WiFi module and connecting cables.
