Ingenious: convenience at the push of a button

The latest generation of the Kludi Push concealed solutions is all about simple, intuitive operation – An innovative new feature replaces pull-up diverters

We all know how to use buttons, and how easy they are to use in many everyday appli-cations. They are intuitive, convenient and effortless for anyone, whether young or old, able-bodied or with a physical disability. Buttons found their way into bathroom feature sets some time ago, and for good reason: Users can select the jet spray or outlet they want – and turn them on and off – at the push of a button. In summer 2021, Kludi (www.kludi.com), the fittings specialist from Germany’s Sauerland region, will be taking things one step further. The premium brand from Menden is the first company in the kitchen and bathroom segment to replace the conventional pull-up diverter on single-lever concealed mixer fittings with ingenious button-based controls. When the water is flowing, simply press the button to switch the outlet. The valve resets automatically when the water is switched off.

Push, don’t pull
“This innovation, the first of its kind on the market, makes the awkward conventional pull-ing motion a thing of the past,” emphasises Arndt Papenfuß, Head of Marketing and Product Management at the Kludi Group. “With Kludi Push, simply pressing the easily accessible button is all it takes to switch the outlet – it couldn’t be any more convenient and effortless.” The fittings specialist therefore uses the technology both in the bath, to switch between the bath spout and hand shower, and in the shower, to make it easier and more convenient to choose the hand or head shower. Kludi relies on innovative valve technology for the solution. The advantage for users is that the 100% mechanical and hydraulic valve works reliably regardless of the respective water pressure, unlike a spring-based design. Also, the valves do not wear out over time like springs. Like all other Kludi Push systems, it is easy and convenient to install using the Kludi Flexx.Boxx, the concealed unit that is fully compatible with all applications.

Another bonus of the button technology is that the flat button, available in rounded and soft-edge versions to match the respective cover plate shape, is far easier to clean than pull-up diverters. The flat design also makes it particularly unobtrusive. Kludi offers the innovative concealed single-lever mixer in all fitting series of its ‘Smart Luxury’ and ‘Pure Function’ lines – including models with backflow prevention.

Not one but two improvements
The new generation of Kludi Push is also suitable for concealed systems without flow rate control. The new, German-made valve used to control the water flow also improves the look and user-friendliness. It has been specially designed so that the button that turns the outlet in the shower on and off is flush with the cover plate when in the ‘off’ position. The result looks appealing, subtle and exudes quality workmanship, and is bound to impress architects, interior designers and many others. When the button is pressed to open the valve, it is raised a few millimetres above the surface. “The second generation of Kludi Push makes operation even more convenient and enhances the design. There are few, if any, shower solutions on the market that offer such a pleasant, convenient experience, especially at such an attractive price,” explains Arndt Papenfuß confidently. At market launch in spring 2021, Kludi will offer the six most popular versions in its Push family – three each with round and soft-edge cover plates.
