With the Kludi Cockpit Explorer, the Cockpit shower system family from the Sauerland-based fittings specialist Kludi (www.kludi.com) has been given a logical addition to the attractively priced market segment. Like its ‘big brother’ COCKPIT Discovery, which celebrated a much-acclaimed premiere at the ISH, the world's leading trade fair for the bathroom industry, in March 2019 – the latest family member epitomises a combination of outstanding ease of use, processing of premium materials and meticulous manufacturing quality ‘Made in Germany’ and modern design. In addition, the new shower system offers a variety of clever features to further maximise individual showering pleasure. The 300 millimetre wide head shower, which is designed to match the shape of the human body silhouette, not only swivels freely, but is also height-adjustable, just like the large hand shower, so that every user can position it optimally according to their preferences and needs. This is all the more important because an integrated ball joint also allows the angle of the spray disc to be individually adjusted.
Another bonus: The Kludi engineers have designed the elaborate inner workings of the head shower so that no water drips after the showering process is finished. In addition, a constant pressure regulator ensures that the water pressure remains constant and thus provides lasting protection against damage to the showerhead - even if limescale deposits should ever clog the jet outlets in the event of very hard water and insufficient cleaning.
Safe and comfortable operation
A typical feature of the Kludi Cockpit shower system family is its simple and convenient operation. Just like in an aircraft or car cockpit, the Explorer should be intuitive and easy to use, regardless whether the shower user is young or old, small or large, physically fit or handicapped by limitations. Kludi has therefore consciously reduced the operation to two prominent controls placed on the front of the thermostatic mixer. They allow the amount and temperature of the water in the head and hand shower to be adjusted simply by turning them - intuitively, conveniently and without any physical effort. Ergonomic research have shown, positioning both control elements for the user at an angle to the rear within the user's field of vision and reach further enhances ease of use. In addition, haptics and design ensure a secure grip on the hand. Due to innovative Touch Proof technology, the control unit is completely thermally decoped, so that users are optimally protected against scalding when touching the fitting.
Ideal for renovation
The compact thermostat mixer provides a lot of free space. The Kludi Cockpit Explorer is also ideal for smaller showers and renovation projects. An advantage here is that the wall bracket of the new shower system can be adjusted in height by up to 18 cm, so that the Cockpit Explorer shower system can easily be installed on existing drill holes in renovation projects.
100 percent biodegradable
Kludi also relies entirely on plastic-free materials for the packaging of its products from the Cockpit Shower System family. Instead of plastic packaging, which would increase the volume of waste after single use and thus pollute the environment, the Sauerland-based fittings manufacturer uses only FSC-certified cardboard packaging, which can be recycled after use, and organic packaging material. The latter is obtained from edible starch, i.e. renewable raw materials, and is 100 percent biodegradable or compostable according to DIN 13432.
