To keep your KLUDI fitting as shiny as it was on day one – even years later – we have compiled a few recommendations on caring for your fittings here.

- 1. Use the right cleaning agent

For everyday care, please use neutral cleaning agents and water only. To remove stubborn limescale deposits, you can use a cleaning agent containing citric acid. Avoid cleaning agents containing the following chemicals:
- Acetic acid (also known as ethanoic acid or acidum aceticum)
- Hydrochloric acid (muriatic acid, acidum hydrochloricum)
- Formic acid (methanoic acid, formylic acid, metacarbonic acid, hydrogen carboxylic acid)
- Sodium hypochlorite (bleach, sodium oxychloride)
- Phosphoric acid (E 338).
Stainless steel fittings may be damaged by cleaning agents containing hydrofluoric acid and chlorine.
- 2. The right cleaning utensil

Rinse the fittings with plenty of water and polish them with a soft cloth. Do not use scouring agents, steel wool, brushes, sponge pads or microfibre cloths to clean fittings. They can damage and scratch the surface of your fitting.
- 3. Follow the care instructions

Care instructions are included with all of our KLUDI products. We recommend holding onto them and consulting them when in doubt.
- 4. Prevent limescale deposits

Prevent build-up of dirt and limescale deposits by cleaning regularly. Thanks to the flexible nubs, the head and hand showers are generally easy to clean with your finger. All you have to do is rub them gently to remove any limescale.
- 5. Do not apply cleaning agents directly

If possible, do not spray the cleaning agent directly onto the fitting. Instead, apply the cleaning agent to a soft cloth and wipe the surface gently. You can then rinse with clean water.
- 6. Rinse with clean water

Afterwards, rinse off any remaining cleaning agent with clean – ideally hot – water. Finally, we recommend polishing lightly with a soft cloth to prevent new limescale deposits forming.
- 7. Test gentler alternatives

Light soiling can sometimes be removed using just water and conventional soap. Gentle cleaning increases the service life of the fitting.
- 8. Don’t forget the aerator

Daily use can cause limescale to build up quickly on the surface of fittings in kitchens and bathrooms, depending on the lime content in the water. The aerator – the screen in the fitting spout – can also become blocked by limescale deposits. That can cause the fitting to splash or drip. For this reason, don't forget to look after the inside of the fitting when cleaning. If in doubt, a plumber can easily replace an aerator.
- 9. Clean the head and hand shower

To maintain a beautiful spray , all you have to do is wipe the silicon nubs of the head or hand shower regularly by hand. We make the spray nozzles from a special flexible silicon to allow you to rub over them, thus preventing the build-up of limescale. Child’s play – It couldn’t be easier!
