Plus X Award: Kludi selected as the most innovative sanitary brand for 2015

Kludi, the Menden-based specialist for bathroom and kitchen fittings, was not only honoured with the renowned Plus X Award in several categories for its Zenta and L-ine s fittings, but also selected as the most innovative sanitary brand for 2015. The Plus X Award, which is considered the greatest innovation prize on a global scale, has been assessing and rewarding technological, sports and lifestyle products for twelve years, with a focus on quality, design, functionality and ecology, innovation, ease of use and ergonomics.

The fittings specialist Kludi has been considered an extremely innovative producer of premium bath and kitchen fittings for over 80 years. With developments such as the micro-thermostat cartridge, the s-pointer for adjusting beam angles, the world's first hybrid kitchen fitting or the practical drainage function that prevents hand sprays from dripping, this Menden-based company has set milestones in the industry. The strength of the brand's innovation and its well thought-out products have now convinced the Plus X Award's top-of-class, specialist panel; they gave Kludi the "Most Innovative Brand of the Year 2015" award in the sanitary product group - the highest honour available from Plus X Award.

"A good and advanced design vocabulary is a central purchasing criterion in the bathroom and kitchen. The products that are used here should ultimately continue to cut a fine figure for many years. The quality and innovations that make the user's life easier are equally important though," explains Guido Wiesendahl, who manages the Research and Development department at Kludi, and represented the company in receiving the award on 18 June 2015 in the Erste Deutsche Bundestag building in Bonn. "We believe that a prize for innovation as important as the Plus X Award is a seal of quality, that helps consumers and planners to orient themselves in the jungle of products," continues Wiesendahl.

The basis for Kludi's success in the Plus X Award was a combination of the Kludi Zenta and Kludi L-ine s mixers. They were assessed so positively by the panel that Kludi was ultimately honoured with the highest award as the most innovative sanitary brand of the year. The electronic Zenta basin mixer was awarded as the best product in 2015/2016 for its high quality, classic design, touchless technology and environmentally-friendly consumption. The panel recognised the Kludi L-ine s single lever sink mixer for its high quality, sophisticated design and fully developed functionality.

"Ultimately, quality in function and styling prevails in the market just as much as in the awarding of design prizes," says Wiesendahl. He continues: "For Kludi, this year's Plus X Awards signal that we have got it exactly right when it comes to our brand.

"As in previous years, the television transmitter Anixe will broadcast the large-scale Plus X Award prize-giving in full, in HD. The gala will be broadcast across Europe via Astra on 11 July 2015 at 8:15pm, and also be available almost everywhere in Germany via the digital cable network.
